Union football coach Don Fellows is confident that the Red Hawks have one of the area’s best kept secrets in Tommy Stevens when it comes to dynamic players. It’s hard to imagine the junior quarterback will be a secret much longer after his performance in Friday night’s 35-34 win against Ottawa Hills at Houseman Field.
The Red Hawks were down 34-28 at their own 47 and facing 4th-and-3 with 8:25 left in regulation when Stevens broke free and sprinted downfield for the go-ahead touchdown. It wasn’t Stevens’ only touchdown of the game and it wasn’t his longest, but it did give Union the lead for good.
